Funny Stuff

Dylan cracks me up...I wanted to share a couple of things he said last week during school time.

1.) We were practicing penmanship by playing a game called copy cat. You basically have your child try to write letters and words exactly like you and if he can do it, he wins points; the more points, the cooler the prize. Anyway, Dylan was having problems with the letter "t".

Me: Dylan, that "t" looks like it's an "x". What can you do to make it look more like a "t"?
Dylan: (large sigh) Mom! It looks exactly like a "t"! It's just doing yoga!

2.) Sometimes to practice spelling words we play hangman. It was my turn to guess what Dylan's word was and I was loosing big time. At one point when I was nearly done for, Dylan started filling in blanks with every letter I said...

Dylan's word at the end of the game: G F A N U H Z

Dylan: Mom ! You did it! You didn't die!
Me: But Dylan, that's not a word!
Dylan: (looking very disgusted with my ignorance) Mo-om! That's because it's a french word. You just wouldn't understand!

Christmas Update

So I thought it would be nice to give a recap of our Christmas. It was nice. The Orem Spencer family graciously let us (and our two naughty chi's) stay with them for several days. They were very welcoming and kind despite naughty behavior from the dogs and intense behavior from me and Dylan. We had a nice time. Dylan was spoiled almost beyond reason and loved every minute of being around family.

Nothing

For several days I've had so many things to blog about and nothing to say. What will suffice despite the led weight on my lips is the Serenity Prayer...

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next.
Amen.
