My Mountain Home

Next week Owen, Dylan and I will be making the long car ride home. The traveling is arduous but the feeling I get when I first glimpse my beloved Mount Timponogos is always euphoric. On the face of this mountain and in its canyons, I played as a child and throughout my youth. I had many spiritual experiences there and some of the most wonderful family moments of my life. Of course it will be awesome to reunite with our families, most of which have had some really wonderful additions (little miss Katrina, possible sister-in-law in waiting, new houses and jobs etc.) to celebrate; but to spend time in the rocky cradle of my nativity is always a healing renewal for my soul.

  1. If it weren't for family connections, I could easily say that Mt Timpanogos is the only good thing about Utah County. (Maybe I'm biased, but it's the best mountain in Utah!) We only go to Provo a couple of times a year now, and I agree... it's very comforting to see Timp in all its majesty. The rest of Orem/Provo, well.... *sigh* I'll spare you what I truly think, but the words "patheti-sad" or "crap-tacular" pretty well sum it up for me.

How long will you be in Utah? I'd love to arrange a get-together.

    Have a safe trip! :)

  2. Spoiled little me sees my beautiful Timp every day but I still love it. I have to say my favorite is in the wee morning hours when I am the only one crazy enough to be awake when it is gently lit by the rising sun or glowing with its snow glittering in the moonlight. Yep, I love Timp and the fact that I have been to the top! P.S. Good luck with the drive, we can't wait to see you!
